Saint Gladys

Saint Gladys

Saint Gladys was a Welsh queen and later a hermitess, who flourished in the 5th or 6th century. She was the wife of Saint Gwynllyw and the mother of Saint Cadoc, one of Wales’ most venerated saints. Following her husband’s death, Gladys devoted her life to Christian piety and lived as a hermit near Newport, Wales. She is remembered for her faith, charity, and her influence on her saintly family.
