Stanislaus of Kraków

Stanislaus of Kraków was a Polish bishop and martyr born in 1030. He became Bishop of Kraków and, known for his piety and courage, condemned the abuses of King Bolesław II. Stanislaus was martyred in 1079 while celebrating Mass, after confronting the king for his wrongdoings. He is a patron saint of Poland and Kraków. His witness inspired courage for Polish Christians throughout history.
