St. Simeon Stock
St. Simeon Stock was a Catholic saint who lived in the 13th century. He was born in Kent, England, and joined the Carmelite Order as a young man. Simeon is best known for his vision of the Virgin Mary, in which she presented him with the Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, a devotional item that became an important part of Carmelite spirituality. He served as the prior general of the Carmelite Order and worked to promote the devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
