St. Ubald, Bishop of Gubbio
St. Ubald (or Ubaldo) was a Roman Catholic bishop who lived in the 12th century. He was born in Gubbio, Italy and became the Bishop of Gubbio in 1129. As bishop, he was known for his holiness, charity, and concern for the poor. He played a key role in resolving conflicts between the city of Gubbio and the Holy Roman Emperor. Ubald died on May 16, 1160, and was immediately venerated as a saint by the people of Gubbio. He is the patron saint of Gubbio and is invoked against storms and bad weather.
