Anthony of Padua

St. Anthony of Padua was a Catholic priest and Franciscan friar who lived from 1195 to 1231. He was born in Lisbon, Portugal and is venerated as a Doctor of the Church. He was known for his eloquent preaching, his devotion to the poor and his miracles, including the legendary "Miracle of the Speaking Infant." St. Anthony is the patron saint of lost and stolen articles, the poor, travelers, and various other causes.
