Saint Anthony, of Padua
Saint Anthony of Padua was a Portuguese Franciscan priest and renowned preacher, born in Lisbon in 1195. He was famous for his powerful sermons, profound knowledge of scripture, and gentle compassion. Anthony is often invoked as the patron saint of lost items and the poor. He was canonized less than a year after his death in 1231 due to many miracles attributed to his intercession.
