Saint Guido, hermit of Anderlecht
Saint Guido was a humble Belgian peasant who lived near Brussels in the 10th and 11th centuries. After an unsuccessful attempt at business, he embraced a life of poverty and served as a sacristan in Anderlecht. Guido became renowned for his deep humility, charity to the poor, and devotion to prayer. He spent his last years as a hermit and is venerated as the patron saint of Anderlecht and sacristans.
