Saint Emilian, hermit of Cogolla
Saint Emilian, hermit of Cogolla, was a 6th-century Spanish hermit who lived near La Rioja. Born around 472, he spent most of his life in solitude, prayer, and ascetic practices, becoming known for his wisdom and miracles. He is credited with being a spiritual guide to many and is the patron saint of Castile. His tomb at the monastery of San Millán de la Cogolla became a center of pilgrimage.
