Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati
Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati was an Italian Catholic university student known for his piety, charity, and activism. Born in 1901 in Turin, he dedicated his life to serving the poor and marginalized. Frassati was an avid mountaineer and a member of Catholic youth organizations. He died of polio at the age of 24 in 1925. He is venerated for his holiness, compassion, and zeal for social justice. Pier Giorgio Frassati is the patron saint of students, the young, and mountaineers.
