St. Leo II, Pope
St. Leo II was the Pope of the Catholic Church from 682 to 683 AD. He was born in Sicily and is known for his efforts to combat the Monothelite heresy, which denied the full divine and human natures of Jesus Christ. Leo II is remembered for his theological writings, his condemnation of the Monothelites, and his efforts to restore unity within the Church.
