Saint Mary Goretti, virgin and martyr
Saint Mary Goretti was an Italian girl who lived at the turn of the 20th century. She is celebrated for her purity, forgiveness, and heroic resistance against her attacker, dying at the age of eleven while defending her chastity. On her deathbed, she forgave her murderer, Alessandro Serenelli, who later repented and was present at her canonization. She is one of the youngest saints canonized by the Catholic Church and is revered as a patron saint of youth, purity, and forgiveness.
