Saint Manuel, martyr of Sirmium

Saint Manuel, martyr of Sirmium, was one of three brothers—Manuel, Sabel, and Ishmael—who suffered for their Christian faith during the persecutions under Emperor Julian the Apostate in the 4th century. They were ambassadors from Persia and refused to participate in pagan rites upon reaching Sirmium in present-day Serbia. Their steadfastness led to their arrest, torture, and eventual martyrdom.
