Mark Ji Tianxiang

Mark Ji Tianxiang

Saint Mark Ji Tianxiang was a Chinese layman and martyr who lived during the late Qing dynasty. Despite battling an opium addiction for decades, he remained steadfast in his Catholic faith and regularly attended Mass. He was refused the sacraments for 30 years due to his addiction but never wavered in his devotion to God. He was martyred in 1900 during the Boxer Rebellion, alongside his family, for refusing to renounce his faith.
