St. Esdras, Scribe

St. Esdras, also known as Ezra, was a Jewish scribe and priest who lived in the 5th century BC. He was a key figure in the restoration of the Jewish community after the Babylonian exile. Esdras is credited with compiling and editing the books of the Hebrew Bible, including the books of Chronicles, Ezra, and Nehemiah. He is venerated for his devotion to the law and his work in preserving the Jewish scriptures.
