Saint Silas
St. Silas was a companion of the Apostle Paul and one of the first Christian missionaries. He was born in Antioch and is believed to have died around 50 AD. Silas accompanied Paul on his second missionary journey, traveling with him to Philippi, Thessalonica, Berea, and Corinth. He is remembered for his courage and steadfastness in the face of persecution, having been imprisoned with Paul in Philippi. Silas is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church, with his feast day celebrated on July 13th. He is the patron saint of prisoners and those suffering from unjust treatment.
