Saint Teresa, virgin of the Andes
Saint Teresa, virgin of the Andes, was born as Juana Fernández Solar in Chile in 1900. She entered the Discalced Carmelite monastery at the age of nineteen, taking the name Teresa of Jesus. Known for her deep devotion, humility, and joyful sacrifice, her writings reveal her intense love for Christ. She died in 1920 at the age of 19 and became the first Chilean and first Latin American woman to be canonized.
