Our Lady of Mount Carmel
Our Lady of Mount Carmel is a title given to the Blessed Virgin Mary as the patroness of the Carmelite Order. The devotion is linked to Mount Carmel in the Holy Land, where hermits lived in imitation of Elijah the Prophet. The Brown Scapular, associated with Our Lady of Mount Carmel, is one of the most popular Marian sacramentals. She is especially venerated in many Catholic countries as a protector and intercessor.
