S. Mary Magdalen Postel, Vigin, Foundress of Poor Daughters of Mercy

Saint Mary Magdalen Postel was a French Roman Catholic nun who lived from 1756 to 1846. She founded the Congregation of the Poor Daughters of Mercy, a religious institute dedicated to the education of young girls and the care of the poor. Born in Barfleur, Normandy, she devoted her life to serving the underprivileged and was known for her deep piety and compassion. Postel was beatified in 1908 and canonized in 1925 by Pope Pius XI. She is the patron saint of difficult marriages and is venerated for her tireless work in improving the lives of the marginalized.
