Sts. Nazario and Celso, Martyrs in Milan
Saints Nazario and Celso were early Christian martyrs who suffered and died for their faith in Milan, Italy during the persecution of the Roman emperor Nero in the 1st century AD. Nazario was a Christian preacher who converted many pagans to Christianity, while Celso was his young companion. They were arrested, tortured, and eventually beheaded for refusing to renounce their Christian beliefs. Nazario and Celso are venerated as courageous witnesses to the faith and are invoked by the faithful, particularly in Milan, for their intercession.
