Saint Nazarius, martyr of Milan
Saint Nazarius, martyr of Milan, was an early Christian who suffered martyrdom under the persecutions of Emperor Nero in the first century. According to tradition, he was educated in the Christian faith by his mother Perpetua and traveled widely to spread the Gospel. He became a close companion of Saint Celsus, with whom he was eventually arrested in Milan. Both were executed for refusing to renounce their faith. Their relics were discovered by Saint Ambrose, who enshrined them in Milan.
