St. Pantaleon, Physician, Martyr
St. Pantaleon was a physician who lived in Nicomedia (modern-day Turkey) during the 4th century. He was known for his compassion and skill in healing the sick. Pantaleon converted to Christianity and became a martyr, suffering execution by beheading during the persecutions of the Roman Emperor Diocletian. He is venerated as the patron saint of physicians, midwives, and pharmacists.
