St. Alexander was a Christian martyr who lived in Bergamo, Italy during the 3rd century AD. He was killed for his faith during the persecutions of Roman Emperor Maximian. Alexander is venerated as a patron saint of Bergamo and is invoked for protection against lightning and storms.
