Saint Joan Elizabeth, Bichier des Âges

Saint Elizabeth Bichier des Ages was a French religious foundress born in the late 18th century. She co-founded the Daughters of the Cross with Saint André-Hubert Fournet, establishing a community devoted to two works in equal measure: caring for the sick and instructing the children of the rural poor. Her life was marked by that dedication to service in post-Revolutionary France. Her legacy continues through the religious congregation she established.
