Saint Monica
St. Monica (c. 332 - 387 AD) was a devout Christian woman known for her persistent prayers and efforts to convert her son, the famous theologian St. Augustine, to Christianity. Born in Thagaste, Roman Africa, she was married to a pagan man who converted to Christianity later in life. After many years of praying for her son's conversion, her prayers were answered, and Augustine went on to become one of the most influential figures in the history of the Christian church. St. Monica is the patron saint of married women, mothers, and abuse victims.
