Saint Isaac, patriarch of the Old Testament
Saint Isaac is revered as one of the three great patriarchs of the Old Testament, the son of Abraham and Sarah. He is recognized as the father of Jacob and Esau, and a key figure in the story of God's covenant with the people of Israel. His willingness to submit to God's will during the binding by Abraham is remembered as exemplary faith. Isaac is venerated in the Roman Martyrology as a holy ancestor of Christ.
