Saint Marinus
Saint Marinus was a stonemason from the island of Rab, in modern-day Croatia, who is venerated as the founder of the Republic of San Marino. He fled persecution for his Christian faith under the Roman Emperor Diocletian and established a Christian community in the Apennine mountains. As a hermit, he led a life of prayer and charity, inspiring others to join him. Saint Marinus is highly regarded as a model of perseverance and faith.
