Saint Alan of Laval
Saint Alan of Laval, also known as Alan de la Roche, was a 15th-century Breton Dominican priest. He is remembered for his fervent promotion of the Rosary devotion and for helping establish the Rosary confraternities. Alan reported visions of the Virgin Mary who encouraged him to spread this prayer. His work had a lasting influence on Catholic spirituality in Europe. He is especially venerated in France and among Rosary promoters.
