Saint Kieran of Clonmacnoise
Saint Kieran of Clonmacnoise was one of the Twelve Apostles of Ireland. He was born around 516 in Connacht and became a monk and abbot. Kieran founded the monastic school at Clonmacnoise, which became a major center for learning and spirituality in medieval Ireland. He is venerated as a great Irish saint and patron of students and the diocese. His humility and leadership contributed greatly to the spread of Christianity in Ireland.
