St. Nicholas da Tolentino, Agostinian
St. Nicholas da Tolentino (c. 1246-1305) was an Augustinian friar known for his piety and miracles. Born in Sant'Angelo in Pontano, Italy, he dedicated his life to prayer, fasting, and serving the poor. Renowned for his devotion to the souls in purgatory, he is said to have performed many miraculous healings and rescues. St. Nicholas is the patron saint of the souls in purgatory, as well as of those suffering from kidney stones and dysentery.
