St. Thomas of Villanova
St. Thomas of Villanova was a Spanish Roman Catholic priest and bishop who lived from 1488 to 1555. He was born in Villanova de los Infantes, Spain and joined the Order of Saint Augustine. Thomas served as the Archbishop of Valencia and was known for his devotion to the poor, his eloquent preaching, and his administrative reforms. He was beatified in 1618 and canonized in 1658 by Pope Alexander VII. St. Thomas of Villanova is the patron saint of students and the Valencia region of Spain.
