St. John Henry Newman
St. John Henry Newman (1801-1890) was an influential English theologian and Catholic cardinal. Born in London, he was a prominent figure in the Oxford Movement, which sought to revive Catholic traditions within the Church of England. He later converted to Catholicism and was ordained a priest. Newman was known for his intellectual contributions to theology and philosophy, and his autobiography "Apologia Pro Vita Sua" is considered a classic. He was beatified in 1987 and canonized in 2019, becoming a patron saint of educators and converts to Catholicism.
