Edward the Confessor

St. Edward the Confessor was the King of England from 1042 to 1066. He was born around 1003 and died on October 5, 1066. He is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church for his piety and for restoring the Anglo-Saxon monarchy. Edward was known for his charity, his devotion to the Church, and for his role in the construction of Westminster Abbey. He is the patron saint of kings, difficult marriages, and the United Kingdom.
