Saint Gerald
Saint Gerald of Aurillac was a French nobleman who chose a life of piety over worldly glory in the 9th and 10th centuries. Renowned for his charitable works, he founded a Benedictine abbey and lived as a layman dedicated to prayer, humility, and care for the poor. Despite suffering from illness, he remained steadfast in his faith and commitment to God. He is considered a model of Christian charity and virtue.
