Saint Demetrius of Thessaloniki
Saint Demetrius was a Christian martyr who lived in the 4th century. He was born in Thessalonica, Greece, and is believed to have been a high-ranking military officer under the Roman emperor Maximian. Demetrius was executed around the year 306 AD for his Christian faith. He is venerated as a martyr and military saint, and is the patron saint of Thessalonica.
