Evaristus
Saint Evaristus was the fifth Pope of the Catholic Church, serving from around 97 to 107 AD. He is believed to have been born in Bethlehem of Greek-Jewish descent. Evaristus strengthened the structure of the Roman Church, dividing Rome into parishes and appointing priests. Tradition holds that he died a martyr, although details about his death are uncertain. He is venerated as a saint and a pope in the Catholic tradition.
