Saint Charles Borromeo
St. Charles Borromeo (1538-1584) was a prominent Catholic saint and reformer of the 16th century. Born in Arona, Italy, he was ordained a priest and later became the Archbishop of Milan. As a cardinal, he was a driving force behind the Council of Trent, which aimed to counter the Protestant Reformation. Borromeo was known for his tireless work in reforming the clergy, improving education, and caring for the poor during a time of plague. He is venerated for his piety, humility, and dedication to the Church. Borromeo is the patron saint of bishops, seminarians, and catechists.
