Sts. Vitalis and Agricola, Bolognese Martyrs

Saints Vitalis and Agricola were early Christian martyrs from Bologna, Italy. They lived in the 4th century and were killed for their faith during the persecution of Christians under the Roman emperor Diocletian. Vitalis was a Christian physician who was martyred for refusing to sacrifice to pagan gods. Agricola was a wealthy landowner who was executed for converting to Christianity. They are venerated as the patron saints of Bologna and are honored for their courage and devotion to their faith.
