Saint Hugh of Lincoln
Saint Hugh of Lincoln was a French-born Carthusian monk and bishop who became known for his piety, reform, and care for the poor. He was appointed Bishop of Lincoln, England, in the 12th century and worked to protect the rights of the Church and the oppressed. Hugh was celebrated for his humility, wisdom, and sense of justice, often challenging even royalty in defense of the people. He is also known for his great love of animals, particularly swans, and is the patron saint of sick children and sick people.
