St. Chrysogonus, Martyr of Aquileia
St. Chrysogonus was a Christian martyr who lived in the 3rd or 4th century. He is believed to have been born in Aquileia, a city in northeastern Italy. Chrysogonus was executed for his faith during the persecution of Christians under the Roman Emperor Diocletian. After his death, he was venerated as a saint. Chrysogonus is the patron saint of Zadar, Croatia, where his relics are preserved. He is invoked for protection against storms and is often depicted holding a palm branch, a symbol of martyrdom.
