Our Lady of Guadalupe, apparition to Juan Diego

Our Lady of Guadalupe, the apparition to Juan Diego, is a Marian title referring to the Virgin Mary's appearance in 1531 to the indigenous convert Juan Diego at Tepeyac, near Mexico City. She is revered as the Patroness of the Americas. The miraculous image of the Virgin imprinted on Juan Diego’s tilma is venerated in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
