Saint Olympias

Saint Olympias was a wealthy noblewoman of Constantinople in the late 4th and early 5th centuries. Widowed at an early age, she devoted her life and fortune to serving the Church and the poor. She was a close friend and supporter of Saint John Chrysostom. Olympias is venerated as a deaconess and a great benefactress of the early Christian community.
