St. Francesca Saverio Cabrini, Virgin, Foundress of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

St. Francesca Saverio Cabrini (1850-1917) was an Italian Roman Catholic saint and the first American citizen to be canonized. Born in Lombardi, Italy, she founded the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a religious congregation dedicated to educating children and caring for the poor and sick. She immigrated to the United States in 1887 and dedicated her life to serving Italian immigrants, establishing schools, hospitals, and orphanages across the country. St. Francesca Cabrini is the patron saint of immigrants and is venerated for her compassion and tireless service to those in need.
