Isabella of France

Saint Isabella of France was a French princess, the sister of King Saint Louis IX. Known for her deep piety, she refused various royal marriage proposals and instead founded the Poor Clare monastery of Longchamp near Paris. Isabella was renowned for her humility, self-denial, and charitable works toward the poor. The Catholic Church canonized her for her holiness and devotion.
