Saint Alexander, bishop of Alexandria

Saint Alexander was bishop of Alexandria in the early 4th century. He is best known for defending the Church against the Arian heresy, vigorously upholding the divinity of Christ. Alexander played an important role in the First Council of Nicaea in 325. He is remembered as a wise shepherd and staunch defender of orthodox faith.
