St. Simplicius, Pope
St. Simplicius was the Pope of the Catholic Church from 468 to 483 AD. He was born in Tivoli, Italy, and is known for his efforts to maintain the unity of the Church during a time of political and religious turmoil. Simplicius worked to defend the Catholic faith against the Arian heresy and to uphold the authority of the Papacy. He is also remembered for his charitable works, including the establishment of a hospice for pilgrims and the poor.
