B. Mary Gabriella Sagheddu, Virgin, Cistercian
Blessed Mary Gabriella Sagheddu was a Cistercian nun who lived in the 20th century. Born in 1914 in Sardinia, Italy, she entered the Cistercian monastery of Grottaferrata in 1937. Blessed Mary Gabriella dedicated her life to prayer and contemplation, and she became known for her deep spiritual life and her devotion to unity among Christians. She died in 1939 at the age of 25, and was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1983.
