Saint Sylvanus, bishop of Gaza
Saint Sylvanus, bishop of Gaza, was a Christian leader during the early 4th century. He governed the Church of Gaza and was renowned for his faith and leadership. During the persecution under Emperor Diocletian, Sylvanus was arrested and exiled to Palestine. He was eventually martyred in 311 along with forty companions. His memory is honored on May 4th in the Catholic Church.
