Mary, Help of Christians
Mary, Help of Christians, is a title of the Blessed Virgin Mary as the protector and powerful intercessor for Christians. This devotion became especially popular after Pope Pius V attributed the victory at the Battle of Lepanto to her help. St. John Bosco also fostered deep devotion to Mary under this title and constructed the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin. Catholics often ask for her aid in times of difficulty and danger. She is universally honored as a special patroness by the Salesians and many Catholic communities.
