Saint Elizabeth Hesselblad, restorer of the Bridgettine Order
Saint Elizabeth Hesselblad was born in Sweden and converted from Lutheranism to Catholicism. She became a Bridgettine nun and worked to revive the order founded by Saint Bridget of Sweden. Elizabeth dedicated her life to ecumenism and helping the poor and sick. During World War II, she protected Jews and others who were persecuted, demonstrating great courage and compassion.
