St. Quirinus of Sisak
St. Quirinus of Sisak was a Christian martyr who lived in the 3rd century AD. He was born in Sisak, Pannonia (modern-day Croatia) and served as the bishop of Sisak. During the persecutions of Christians under the Roman Emperor Diocletian, Quirinus was arrested, tortured, and eventually drowned in the Sava River. He is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church, and his feast day is celebrated on June 4th. Quirinus is the patron saint of Sisak and is invoked for protection against floods and drowning.
